UNSIGNED SPOTLIGHT

Cast The First Stone

North Carolina knows their Metal. Cast The First Stone is proof of that. They have shared the stage with the likes of God Forbid, Between the Buried and Me, August Burns Red and countless other metal bands with substance. With an ecclectic mixture of different styles of music ranging from Metal to Powerpop, CTFS is carving their own niche in this ever revolving industry of music.

Gian: Where are you guys from and who is Cast The First Stone?

CTFS: In recent years the bands coming out of NC have been creating quite a buzz. On the the forefront of all these amazing artists is the four piece powerhouse, Cast The First Stone. Their hairpin breakdowns and driving choruses are only topped by their heart stopping melodic tones. What sets Cast The First Stone apart is the range of each style of music they blend ever so delicately into each and every song, which carries the ability to appeal to a much broader audience. We love the music we create and we hope each and every one of our fans will embrace each song just as much as we do when we play them live every single time.

Gian: What is the message that the band is trying to convey?

CTFS: As a band Cast The First Stone promotes the ideal of people of all walks of life; can be brought together through music. As well as take a big stand that local music everywhere should be supported, it is only through unity that the true power of scenes everywhere of every type can all speak as one. Basically life's a party and we're the soundtrack.

Gian: If you guys could pick out a "Dream Tour" with you guys headlining, who would you guys pick out to share the stage with and why?

CTFS: Our Dream Tour..... If we had the chance to pick out our dream tour it would have to include bands that are dis banned, and bands that are still rocking the stages ranging from the utter brutality of Pantera to the pure originality of Glassjaw. And of course, the more modern day bands like The Acacia Strain, Killswitch Engage and Circa Survive. If you put all of these bands in a blender you'll understand where Cast The First Stone is coming from.

Gian: So we heard that you guys are headed into the studio soon to record some new material with Jamie King (He is Legend) at the helm. What can we expect from your new material?

CFTS: If you haven't heard C.T.F.S., is studio bound next month. We've been writing new material for a little under a year now. We're getting our close friend B.J. Burton to do the tracking for us and then the mix will be sent to the great Jamie King for mastering. This will be our second project Jamie has touched and for those that don't know, Jamie King is an undeniable great recording force on the east coast. So needless to say we are so anxious to get these tracks down and out to our listeners.

Gian: Any additional comments?

CTFS: We would like to thank Frantik Magazine for taking the time to pursue us for an interview and giving an up and coming band a shot at getting some press out to those who matter. C.T.F.S. will be doing a lot of touring in 2008 so please go check out our myspace page and friend us so you know when we are headed your way!

Gian: Thanks Guys!
