UNSIGNED SPOTLIGHT
Straight Line Stitch
Hailing from Knoxville, TN, this hard rock/metal act is on its way to the top. With an impressive line up of shows (200 a year) under their belt including The Vans Warped Tour and various Jagermeister Tours, and an angry soulful female front woman, Straight Line Stitch is relentless in accomplishing their goals. We got a hold of Seth from SLS to talk all SLS.
By: Gian Erguiza

Gian: Who is Straight Line Stitch?
Seth: SLS is Alexis Brown - vocals; Seth Thacker - guitar; Jason White - Bass; Patrick Haynes - Drums. SLS is a metal-driven female fronted band from Knoxville, TN.
Gian: Being a female fronted band, do you guys think that its an advantage or a disadvantage being a part of a male dominated metal world? ?
Seth: There are pros and cons to being in a band such as us. The pros would be that most people are completely floored when they hear Alexis. Most people can't believe the screams that come out of her until they see it live...so that adds a lot of excitement to SLS. Some of the cons are that people already have this odd stereotype in their mind without even listeing. But after they do it flips over to the pro side of everything...they like what they have heard!
Gian: What is the primary message of your music?
Seth: Mostly a positive outlook. There is nothing negative in our music. Most of Alexis' lyrics are about getting back up when you've been knocked down, keep moving forward, and one of the more important messages that everyone in the band stands by...don't judge a book by it's cover!
Gian: How do you guys feel about Digital downloading vs. Physical purchasing?
Seth: I (Seth) am personally fine with the Digital downloading as long as it doesn't go overboard. I think it is great to download a band's song or two just to see if it is something you might be interested in purchasing. Beats shelling out money for something you thought you might like.
Gian: Any additional comments?
Seth: Yeah, we have a new EP that is out now called "THE WORD MADE FLESH" You can purchase it on our myspace page - www.myspace.com/straightlinestitch for right now or you can get it at one of our shows...we are all over the place. Secondly, Thanks to Frantik Magazine for doing this interview...and we hope to see some of you metal heads when we come to your town! THX, S - SLS
Gian: Thanks Seth!
