Dirty D.N.A.

Out of the hot and humid depths of the undisputed batshit-craziest place in the known universe -- Florida -- comes a megaton blast of twisted punk fury like nothing you've seen or heard. Dirty DNA isn't so much a band as it is an amalgam of some of the biggest names in South Florida's unsigned powerful rock scene.

Mark: Who is Dirty D.N.A.?

Greg: We are a punk|rock band out of South Florida. Four out of the five members have had former bands that went on to national & international success. The band is: Frank “Crime” Cassara on vocals, Fritz Von Winkle & Rob Deuce on guitar, Greg “da Gooch” Poncier on bass & George “Korky” Kokkoris on drums.

Mark: What best describes the music that you guys play and how did you guys get started?

Greg: We play punk|rock music. It’s fast & heavy. We’ve all known each other for years from our former bands. We all came from the same “scene” here in Ft. Lauderdale. Crime & Deuce started the band. They recruited Fritz & I soon after. One drummer change later, dirty DNA was born.

Mark: What is the message that your band is trying to convey?

Greg: I don’t really know if there is a message in our stuff. Lyrically, all of the songs are observations of life, mixed with some humor. We have a song called “Cocko de Blocko”, (which features a guitar solo from Dan Spitz from Anthrax), that is a perfect example of what I mean. Every guy at one time was cock blocked in one way or another. We thought a song about that has never been done before, at least to our knowledge, so we went ahead and did it. It’s pretty funny.

Mark: If you guys had the chance to share the stage with anyone, who would you guys choose and why?

Greg: Well, like I said before, most of us come from signed bands, so we’ve played with a ton of acts already. I can’t speak for everyone, but I would love to play with punk bands that really left their mark like The Misfits.
