Sworn Enemy

The Brooklyn, NY natives are at it once again. With a new album on the horizon set to land in the fall, and a slew of dates slated for Europe, Sworn Enemy is once again going to bring their own brand of Metal, Hardcore, Rock to the massess. Sal Loco, frontman of SE, talks about their upcoming album and thrash metal.

Sal Loco! How’s it going man?

Gian: So I hear you guys are currently writing new material? How’s it going so far?

Sal Loco: Well so far the process is going real good. We basically have a done record. we actually starting the rcording process. Drums have been tracked and now the guitars are gonna start today.

Gian: Working with Tim L. and Joey Z must be a delight. How have they help shape up the new material?

Sal Loco: Well one couldnt ask for 2 of the best at what they do. They have so many ideas to help create a better record. The outcome of all of their ideas will make for one great record. Im sure of that.

Gian: I read somewhere that there is a certain, likeness to pioneer thrash bands like Exodus and Megadeth on the new stuff. Are you, or the band, big fans of early thrash metal?

Sal Loco: Growing up in NY we always had great shows as kids and seeing all the thrash bands come play was alot of fun. So having been part of that it would be a given that we would incorporate the music we love as kids into the music we create. And yes we are really big fans of thrash.

Gian: “Maniacal” seems fit for an SE album. How did you guys come up with the title?

Sal Loco: The title is always the hardest thing to come up with and we wated to make sure that it was gonna fit the mood we were feeling. So this is what we came up with as a last second thing in the studio.

Gian: Certainly, you guys must be extremely proud about the material on the new album. Is there a certain song that sticks out in your mind that would end up to be a classic SE crowd favorite?

Sal Loco: Right now the new record hasnt really taken form yet with only the drums done. If you ask me that question when the record is complete im sure i will have an answer for you.

Gian: Now let me ask you, What does a busy day consist of while you guys are out on tour or what do you guys do when you get a day-off?

Sal Loco: Well lots of video gaming and lots of internet time .. hahaha then what ever kind of trouble we can get into.

Gian: You guys looking forward to the European dates?

Sal Loco: Hell yeah europe is the shit. We love it over there. For some reason there is a much greate love for the underground sound.

Gian: Should we be expecting a U.S. tour sometime soon?

Sal Loco: Im hearing some things but cant say yet. Im sure we will be hitting up the states soon.

Gian: If the powers that be gave you the choice to pick a dream line-up for a tour, who would you include?

Sal Loco: We would have pantera headlining and the rest of the lineup would be slayer, cromags, biohazard, leeway and sworn enemy.

Gian: Sworn Enemy loves _________________.

Sal Loco: The feeling of seeing a mosh pit go insanely crazy.

Gian: Any additional comments?

Sal Loco: Make sure everyone runs out and picks up "Maniacal" when they get a chance. Thanks for the interview and see you on tour somewhere real soon.
