Jillian Ann

Jillian Ann is an intoxicating blend of style and creativity. Four albums into her career, she shows no signs of slowing down. The singer/songwriter takes some time out to talk to us about her upcoming plans for 2007.

Gian: Hey there Jillian, so when were you born and where?

Jillian: I was born a long time ago and in chattanooga Tenesse

Gian: Your lyrics are deep and hypnotizing, where do you find the inspiration when writing your lyrics?

Jillian: Through life and its never ending journey, through nature and observation, from love and injustice, from hope and spirituality, through everything I witness in every passing moment.

Gian: The music you create is sensual, passionate and soulful. Where does all of this soulful meaning come from and what is the message that you are trying to convey?

Jillian: My entire life is focused on a spiritual core, of reflection and meditation, for life is but a reflection of our souls, and music is just s reflection of my soul.

There are many messages not just one, but many that deal with everything from liberation to overcoming obstacals.

Gian: Are you currently writing new material? If so, what is the biggest challenge about writing new material?

Jillian: Yes I am, for both Liberation Movement and my next solo record, the biggest challenge is finding the time.

Gian: What are you current thoughts on the music scene as a whole?

Jillian: I feel the independent and underground movements are strong and moving ahead. I feel the mainstream pop and rock has often been reduced to pure formula and staged reality.

Gian: If you had the chance to sing a duet with any artist or band, dead or alive, which artist or band would you choose?

Jillian: Thats difficult, I am working with many I respect, there is no one person I really can think of ...off the top of my head. I respect many so there is no one I can think of.

Gian: Modeling and Music are two different worlds. How do you balance both without losing integrity and focus?

Jillian: Its difficult, I don't know if I have completely found my balance..

Gian: What does Jillian Ann do to pass the time or relax?

Jillian: Lately going to the beach, doing yoga, going to visit the redwoods, dancing, making love, cooking, mediating, reading, and sleeping.

Gian: Besides music and modeling, are there other projects or endeavors you are currently working on or a part of?

Jillian: I am currently part of the band Liberation Movement, ( LiberationMovement.net ) I am working on releasing punk meditations, writing a book on " everything they won't tell you" and doing some acting.

Gian: What can we expect from Jillian Ann for 2007-2008?

Jillian: Touring, Releasing Punk Meditations, Liberation Movement, A solo Album, a solo Piano Album, and appearing in images and movies...Updating my website, and manifesting dreams into reality:)
