Why Do Girls Go Wild While at Spring Break?

Spring Break season is the most anticipated time of the year for most young adults. It is the time to let your inhibitions go and party like a madman, madwoman. For some odd reason also, College-age women tend to put their responsibilities aside and lay a slight caution than regular. Why do Girls Go Wild while on Spring Break? There are a number of possibilities.

According to the American Medical Association, most female spring- breakers are anxious about just having good clean fun under the sun. Although a recent survey shows that female spring-breakers break out of their shell and lose that idea once they get into the world of Spring Break without parents or guardians. Of the female spring-breakers surveyed, 30% said that sun and alcohol were an "essential part of life," 74% said that spring break meant increased sexual activity, 40% said that they passed out, and 13% reported having sex with more than one partner. Experts are convinced that this unruly behavior stems from the Girls Gone Wild videos and to the less overtly otherwise raw TV shows like MTV’s Spring Break, Pants Off Dance Off, and other TV shows that show teenage/college debauchery. The impact of these TV shows is overwhelming and basically inspires teens and college alums alike to let go of their inhibition and party hard.

A family values group, The Concerned Women for America, is one of the active groups that take it upon themselves to warn females who fall into the “Let’s get drunk,” induced exhibitionism and public sexuality that they may later regret. And rightfully so, Phones are now equipped with cameras, more and more voyeur style websites who target drunk college women are coming of age, and more and more people are making candid sex tapes of drunken sexual acts, just like the celebrities. Your face and your sexual act can easily make the rounds online and terrorize you forever. Remember, once online, it spreads like a disease you can’t contain. Yikes!

But let’s not forget that some of these women were already sexual to begin with. It doesn’t really matter if they were a clean cut co-ed or a regular gal, most of these already sexual women come undone after a few Margarita’s and a little bit of male encouragement. It’s true that they may not be wild at all times but they weren’t exactly tame to begin with either. A shocking statistic that the AMA has cited is that most female spring-breakers “Use alcohol as an excuse for outrageous wild behavior,” which indicates that engaging in public sex while on vacation would be the same thing if they were back home if they were brave enough to do it.

The god honest truth of it all is that we as human beings love to do stupid things. You’ve got your male barfighters, female mud wrestlers, and the simple aggressive drunk, which we all have at least one friend of. Sexual aggression has also taken a rise in females since 1990, rising up 15% all throughout today. Hypersexual females these days are free to exercise their sexual aggression, more than ever before. We can blame this behavior on girls excelling beyond their gender stereotypes.

It’s almost the same transition as to how women are very much involved in sports, politics and other outlets, now than ever before. The problem is that, Young female spring-breakers, while intoxicated, today are like superheroes in the first pages of the comic book…..blessed with incredible powers and not yet aware of the responsibilities that come with them. It’ almost like they forget who they are and values get thrown out the window for a week, weekend of fun that they may later regret.

If this society had some kind of definition of femininity, that was expansive enough to explain how females can shake their breasts without actually exposing their breasts, then maybe girls can go a little wild without having to worry about the backlash of spring break. Going wild doesn’t necessarily mean to have public sex, sex with multiple partners or showing your private parts. Going Wild can just be showing off some skin and maybe even a kiss but not as far as doing something you’re going to regret. Maybe then, the sorority mating call of “I am so drunk,” can be taken literally, instead of being taken for a green light to try and get them into bed.
